Terms & Conditions

Welcome to CareerWin. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the CareerWin web application available at CareerWin.app (the "Service"), operated by CareerWin.app ("CareerWin", "we", "us"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

CareerWin is an AI-assisted job application tool. It lets you:

  • upload a resume and a job posting (as a file, pasted text, or a link to the posting);
  • receive an automated gap analysis comparing your experience with the job requirements, together with a match score;
  • answer guided questions about the gaps it finds;
  • generate a tailored resume and cover letter using artificial intelligence, and edit them in the editor;
  • create a resume and cover letter without a job posting, and optionally fill the resume from your profile;
  • keep a profile (My Profile) of facts from your resumes and answers, so later applications can use them; and
  • export your documents as PDF or plain text.

Parts of the Service (such as a first gap analysis on the front page) are available without an account. Creating an account is required to save projects and generate documents.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using the Service you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. Accounts

Sign-in to CareerWin is provided by our authentication provider, Clerk. You are responsible for keeping access to your sign-in details secure and for all activity that happens under your CareerWin account. Tell us promptly at support@careerwin.app if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Free allowance, paid passes and payment

  • You can use the Service with a limited free allowance. What the free allowance includes is shown in the app.
  • Paid passes give you access for a fixed period (for example 1, 3 or 6 months) for a single payment, with the usage limits shown in the app before you buy. All prices are final prices, including applicable taxes.
  • A pass does not renew automatically. When it ends, it simply ends, and there is nothing to cancel.
  • Until paid plans launch, choosing a plan only adds you to a waitlist. You are not charged.
  • If we offer a plan that renews automatically, we will say so clearly before you buy. You can cancel it at any time in the app, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. A price change to such a plan applies from your next billing period, and we will tell you in advance so you can cancel first.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your card details.
  • We may change prices or limits. A change never affects a pass you have already bought.

Interview guarantee (6-month pass)

If you buy the 6-month pass and do not receive a single interview during those six months, you may choose either a full refund of what you paid for the pass, or six further months of access at no charge.

The guarantee applies on these conditions:

  • you used at least 10 tailored resume or cover-letter generations during the six-month period;
  • you claim within 14 days after the pass ends, by contacting support@careerwin.app;
  • one guarantee claim per customer; and
  • a refund is for the full amount you paid for the pass (not pro-rata) and is returned via your original payment method.

If you choose the six free months rather than a refund, that extension does not renew: it ends automatically, and we will confirm the end date by email.

This guarantee is in addition to, and does not replace, your statutory right of withdrawal described below, or any other mandatory consumer right.

Right of withdrawal (consumers)

If you buy as a consumer, you may have a statutory right to withdraw from your purchase. When that right applies, how long it lasts, how to use it and what you pay for any part of the Service already provided are governed by mandatory consumer law: in Norway, the Cancellation Act (angrerettloven); elsewhere in the EU/EEA, the national rules based on the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU). Nothing in these Terms limits that right. To withdraw, contact support@careerwin.app.

5. Your content

  • You keep all rights to the documents and text you upload and to the documents generated for you ("Your Content").
  • You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process and transmit Your Content solely to provide the Service — including sending relevant text to our AI providers to perform the analysis and generation you request.
  • If you use My Profile, we save facts taken from your resumes and answers and use them in your later analyses and documents. You can view, edit and delete them in My Profile.
  • We do not sell Your Content, and we do not use it to train AI models.
  • You are responsible for Your Content. You confirm that you have the right to upload it and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights. Please do not upload documents containing other people's personal data unless you are allowed to.
  • The truthfulness of information in your resume and cover letters is your responsibility.

6. AI-generated content

The Service uses large language models to analyse documents and generate text. CareerWin is designed to use only information from your own material, but AI output can still be inaccurate, incomplete or misleading. You must review and verify all generated content before using it. We do not guarantee that generated documents are error-free, that they accurately reflect your experience, or that using the Service will lead to interviews, job offers or any other outcome.

Match score. The match score is our estimate of how closely a resume matches a job posting, not a verdict. There is no single standard: employers use different systems, and each scores in its own way, so the score an employer sees may differ. No score can guarantee an interview.

This does not affect the interview guarantee in section 4. That guarantee is a commitment to refund you, or to extend your access, if you do not receive an interview — it is not a promise that you will receive one.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for anything unlawful, including generating deliberately fraudulent application documents;
  • upload malicious code or content, or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the Service;
  • scrape, resell or systematically extract the Service or its output as a competing product;
  • circumvent usage limits, payment requirements or access controls, for example by creating several accounts to get more free use; or
  • infringe the intellectual-property or privacy rights of others.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

8. Our intellectual property

The Service itself — including its software, design, templates, articles and branding — belongs to CareerWin or its licensors. These Terms do not give you any rights to it beyond normal use of the Service.

9. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers, including Clerk (sign-in), Replit (hosting), Neon (database), Stripe (payments), PostHog (product analytics) and AI model providers (OpenAI and Anthropic). The full list, and how they handle your personal data, is in our Privacy Policy. Their services are subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services, including external job-posting sites you link to.

10. Availability and disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep it running reliably, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we may change, suspend or discontinue features at any time. Where we discontinue a paid feature you have already paid for, we will refund the unused part of your pass or subscription. Nothing in this section limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, CareerWin is not liable for indirect or consequential losses — including lost job opportunities, lost income or lost data — arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for claims relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

12. Termination and deleting your data

You can stop using the Service at any time. In My Profile you can:

  • Delete my data — removes your profile, your saved photo and all your projects. Your account stays, so you can keep using CareerWin.
  • Delete my profile and account — removes all of the above plus your account and sign-in. Any free allowance or paid access you have left ends and cannot be restored. If you have a plan that renews, cancel it first.

You can also ask us to delete your account at support@careerwin.app. After an account is deleted, we keep a minimal usage record so that a new account with the same email address does not get a new free allowance (see our Privacy Policy).

If you don't use CareerWin for 18 months, we email you 30 days in advance and then delete your saved profile, saved photo and projects unless you sign in before then. Your account itself is kept.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms. Upon termination, sections that by their nature should survive (such as sections 5, 8, 11 and 14) continue to apply.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes we will give you notice in the app or by email before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Norwegian courts. If you are a consumer, you also benefit from any mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence. If we cannot resolve a complaint together, you can contact the Norwegian Consumer Council (Forbrukerrådet), which offers free mediation, or, if you live elsewhere in the EU/EEA, the European Consumer Centre in your country.
